Loft Insulation

If your home feels cold or if you have had an issue with rodents in your loft it may be time to change your insulation. An inadequate layer of insulation could be costing you money.

Rodent droppings in your loft can be a source of attraction to other rodents and nobody wants to hear the pitter patter of unwanted fury guests.

How thick should my loft insulation be?

The government recommendation for the thickness of loft insulation is 270mm, that’s almost the length of a standard ruler.

Can I get a grant?

The Great British Insulation Scheme is a new government scheme to help people insulate their homes. The ECO4 scheme will run until March 2026

Can loft boards be installed over insulation?

Loft boards can be installed over insulation but you must first install loft board legs to prevent loft roll insulation from being squashed and maintain thermal performance.

Would I need a loft survey?

A loft survey would be required to measure the loft,to ascertain if there is asbestos present or any rodent activity

Does my loft need to be clear?

The loft needs to be clear to ensure that we can carry out a Biochemical spray and a hygienic clean of your loft once the old insulation has been removed.

We had Locky come to our house as we had unwanted pigeons living under our solar panels. He came, assessed and told us the best way to deal with having them not come back again.He kept me informed and when he did come over to get the work done he was very tidy with his work.We are pigeon free now and no longer have to hear the pigeons walking along the roof tiles making a noise. Although they do come back to see if they can try and get back under the solar panels.If you have a pest problem I have no hesitation and would highly recommend using Locky. He is a great person to deal with and is knowledgeable in his field.He will have a solution for you to be rid of your pesky pests.

I hired Locky in to arrange removal of a Bees next on a grade 2 listed building,From the start communication was fantastic,Even going out his way to supply scaffolders with bees protection suits so they could erect the scaffolding,Excellent removal and relocation of the bees,And also found and removed another hive while on site.All great communication with my customer.Would highly recommend for another future bee issues.
